Pattaya Nightlife Guide
Updated: Sep 7

Pattaya nightlife is one of the city's biggest attractions, offering everything from major entertainment districts and beer bars to nightclubs, live music, restaurants, rooftop venues, and late-night food.
The city is spread across several nightlife areas, so choosing the right neighborhood can make a big difference in your experience.
Best Nightlife Areas in Pattaya
The main nightlife areas include:
Walking Street
Soi Buakhao
LK Metro
Soi 6
Beach Road
Central Pattaya
South Pattaya
Jomtien
Pratumnak
Each area has its own atmosphere and attracts a somewhat different crowd.
Walking Street
Walking Street is Pattaya's most famous nightlife district.
The pedestrian-focused entertainment street is packed with illuminated signs, restaurants, bars, clubs, music, and late-night entertainment.
It is particularly lively after sunset and is one of the easiest places for first-time visitors to experience Pattaya nightlife.
Best for: First-time visitors, nightlife, entertainment, restaurants, and late nights.

Soi Buakhao offers a different nightlife experience from Walking Street.
The area is known for its numerous bars, restaurants, massage businesses, hotels, and smaller entertainment venues.
Because the nightlife is spread along a longer road and surrounding sois, it can be useful to explore the area rather than concentrating on one location.
Best for: Casual nightlife, bars, restaurants, and longer stays.
LK Metro is a compact nightlife area located off Soi Buakhao.
Its concentrated collection of bars and entertainment venues makes it easy to explore on foot.
Best for: Bar hopping and visitors staying around Central Pattaya.
Soi 6 is located farther north along Pattaya Beach.
It has a very different atmosphere from Walking Street and is particularly known for its concentrated nightlife venues.
Best for: Visitors exploring Pattaya's northern nightlife areas.
Pattaya Beach Road
Beach Road combines nightlife with Pattaya's beachfront.
During the evening, visitors can walk along the beach, stop at restaurants, and continue toward entertainment areas farther south.
Best for: Beachfront atmosphere, restaurants, hotels, and easy access to multiple areas.
Jomtien Nightlife
Jomtien provides a more relaxed alternative to central Pattaya.
The area has restaurants, bars, hotels, and beachfront dining, although its nightlife is generally less concentrated than Walking Street.
Best for: Visitors who want nightlife combined with a beach-oriented environment.
Pattaya Nightclubs
Pattaya has a variety of larger clubs and late-night entertainment venues.
The biggest concentration is around Walking Street and central nightlife districts.
Club schedules can change, so check individual venues before making plans.
Pattaya Bars
Bars are found throughout Pattaya.
Depending on the area, you can find:
Beer bars
Sports bars
Live music bars
Cocktail bars
Rooftop bars
Hotel bars
Entertainment venues
Soi Buakhao, LK Metro, Walking Street, and surrounding sois are particularly useful areas for exploring different types of nightlife.
Pattaya Live Music
Live music is available at restaurants, bars, and dedicated music venues throughout the city.
If live performances are important to you, check the schedule for individual venues because performers and operating hours can change.
Pattaya Rooftop Bars
Rooftop venues offer a completely different perspective on Pattaya nightlife.
Instead of being surrounded by street-level crowds and neon signs, visitors can enjoy views of:
Pattaya Bay
The city skyline
Sunset
Nighttime city lights
Rooftop bars can be particularly good for an early-evening start before exploring the busier nightlife districts.
Pattaya Nightlife and Food
You don't have to choose between dinner and nightlife.
Pattaya's major nightlife areas have restaurants serving:
Thai food
Seafood
International cuisine
Pizza
Burgers
Japanese food
Indian food
Late-night snacks
Walking Street is particularly well known for its combination of restaurants and entertainment.
Best Time for Pattaya Nightlife
For most visitors, nightlife begins building after sunset.
A typical evening might look like:
6–8 PM: Dinner and early evening
8–9 PM: Bars and entertainment become busier
9–11 PM: Prime nightlife period
11 PM–2 AM: Late-night activity
After 2 AM: Some venues remain open while other areas begin winding down
Individual businesses have their own schedules.
Best Night of the Week
Friday and Saturday are generally good choices if you want a busier nightlife atmosphere.
Weeknights can be preferable if you want smaller crowds and a more relaxed experience.
Pattaya Nightlife for First-Time Visitors
If you're visiting Pattaya for the first time, don't limit yourself to one district.
A good introduction is:
Start: Pattaya Beach
Dinner: Central or South Pattaya
First nightlife stop: Walking Street
Continue: Explore another district such as Soi Buakhao or LK Metro
This gives you a better understanding of how different Pattaya's nightlife areas can be.
Getting Around Pattaya at Night
Transportation options include:
Baht buses
Motorbike taxis
Taxis
Ride-hailing services
Walking
If you're moving between nightlife districts, plan your transportation before the evening gets busy.
Avoid driving after drinking.

Where to Stay for Pattaya Nightlife
Your hotel location can significantly affect your experience.

Best for combining the beach, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.
Stay Near Soi Buakhao
Best for visitors interested in Central Pattaya nightlife and easy access to multiple bar areas.

Pattaya Nightlife Safety

Keep your phone and wallet secure, especially in crowded areas.
Before ordering, check prices and any applicable charges.
If you're drinking, arrange transportation rather than driving.
For more detailed information, see the Pattaya Nightlife Safety Guide.
How Much Does Pattaya Nightlife Cost?
There is no single price for a night out in Pattaya.
There is, though, a single number that governs most of it. Drink prices in Pattaya step by venue type, not by neighbourhood, and the step is roughly double. A beer at an open-fronted street-side beer bar runs ฿80 to ฿120. The same beer behind the door of a go-go bar or a club is ฿150 to ฿220. Cocktails inside the clubs are ฿250 to ฿400. Checked September 2026.
Nothing on a frontage tells you which of those two prices you are about to pay, and the two kinds of venue sit metres apart on the same soi. A visitor who drinks only in open-fronted bars and one who drinks only behind doors can end the same night with bills that differ twofold on identical products.
Add transport to that. A baht bus between nightlife areas is ฿15, or ฿20 out to Jomtien. A Grab across town is ฿80 to ฿150. After the baht buses thin out around midnight, that Grab fare is the difference between a cheap night and an expensive walk home.
Your spending can vary depending on:
Restaurants
Bars
Clubs
Drinks
Entertainment
Transportation
Hotel location
Budget-conscious visitors can keep costs relatively controlled by choosing casual restaurants and local transportation.
Walking Street vs. Soi Buakhao
These are two of the most useful areas to compare.
Walking Street: Larger, louder, more concentrated, and heavily focused on entertainment.
Soi Buakhao: More spread out, with a mixture of bars, restaurants, hotels, and everyday businesses.
If you have several nights in Pattaya, experience both.
Pattaya Nightlife Map
Because Pattaya's nightlife is spread across multiple districts, a map can make planning much easier.
Use the Pattaya Nightlife Map to understand the relationship between Walking Street, Soi Buakhao, LK Metro, Soi 6, Jomtien, and other areas.
